Some Thanksgiving Food For Thought
Thanksgiving is a time when we come together with family and friends to embrace all that life holds over great food followed by a few hours of relaxation. As the 4-H Foundation connects with youth members and program alumni alike, it is evident that the skills and values that they take away from their involvement are represented well by the holiday. From the cooking and menu planning skills that those involved in foods and nutrition learned as a result of involvement to the communication skills that others gained, these skills will be used effectively on this day of gathering. As you reflect on this food for thought placed before you, I encourage you to consider the life skills that you took away from being a member and give back to the program in one form or another. This may mean by making your blue riddion dinner rolls that you exhibited at the county fair, teaching your club table etiquette, connecting with an old 4-H friend, or making a donation to 4-H programs. It is interesting to see the similarities that this celebration and 4-H youth development have with one another!
Wishing all 4-H Friends and the Families the happiest of Thanksgiving's!
All the Best:
The Indiana 4-H Foundation
